Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and fish oil:

Since fish oil benefits contain Omega-3 fatty acid, it can help reduce, and even alleviate some of the symptoms caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), most importantly insulin resistance. Insulin resistance can be an outcome of the condition that essentially changes the way in which insulin is produced or used in the body. Many women who are living with PCOS will develop either pre-diabetes or full-fledged Type II diabetes, according to the Mayo Clinic. By taking a fish oil supplement, a woman may find that her resistance to the insulin produced in the body will lessen, bringing her blood sugar level closer (in that it will lower) to the normal range. Studies are still limited on whether or not this approach is actually effective, but there have been some positive results. You should talk to your doctor about the possibility of using fish oil as part of your treatment plan.
